AllPro Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Speech & Language Therapist on behalf of our client for a hospital-based service covering Athy, Co. Kildare and Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a multidisciplinary healthcare team providing high-quality Speech and Language Therapy services within a hospital setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention, supporting patients with communication and swallowing disorders, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with communication, speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders.
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualised treatment plans based on clinical need and best practice.
- Manage a varied caseload while maintaining a high standard of clinical care and professional practice.
- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to support integrated patient care.
- Provide education, advice and support to patients, families and carers to maximise communication and swallowing outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records in line with CORU standards, HSE policies and professional guidelines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, discharge planning and service development initiatives.
- Support quality improvement, clinical audit and evidence-based practice within the department.
- Supervise and support junior staff and students where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Current CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
- Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy (BSc or MSc).
- Previous experience working in an acute hospital or healthcare setting.
- Excellent clinical assessment, treatment planning and report-writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
