AllPro Recruitment, on behalf of our client in the public healthcare sector, is seeking compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality care and support to service users across a range of healthcare settings.
The Role
The Healthcare Assistant will support service users with their personal care and daily needs while promoting dignity, independence, comfort and wellbeing at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist service users with personal care, hygiene, dressing, eating and mobility.
- Support service users with daily activities while encouraging independence.
- Deliver compassionate, respectful and person-centred care.
- Observe and report any changes in a service user’s health or wellbeing.
- Follow individual care plans and instructions from nursing and clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, healthcare professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Follow all safeguarding, infection prevention and control, health and safety, and organisational policies.
- Provide reassurance and emotional support to service users and their families where appropriate.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold a minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or an equivalent qualification;
OR
- Hold a relevant or comparable healthcare qualification recognised under the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) NARIC Ireland framework;
OR
- Be currently employed as a Healthcare Assistant or in a comparable role.
Candidates must also have the personal competence and capacity to carry out the duties of the role effectively.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare or care setting is desirable.
- A good understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A compassionate, patient and respectful approach.
- Reliability, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends where required.
- A full, clean driving licence may be required for some positions.
