On behalf of our client in the public health sector, we are now recruiting Healthcare Assistants to support residential and day care services for individuals with intellectual disabilities across multiple locations nationwide.
These are long-term temporary contracts, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualifications & Experience
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or a Social Care Worker qualification
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Knowledge and practical experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Training in Positive Behaviour Support and Safe Medication Management (essential)
- Experience in residential care, special care units, or ASD services
- Understanding of the Health Act 2007 and relevant regulations for disability services
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills with fluent English
- Ability to follow direction and adhere to policies and procedures
- Flexible approach to duties including personal care and household tasks
- Accurate and timely documentation in line with care plans
- Willingness to attend team meetings and collaborate with the Person in Charge (PIC)
