Support Worker

On behalf of our client based in Limerick City, we are recruiting Support Workers for residential service supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing service and make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents. The role will primarily involve sleepover shifts, providing overnight support and ensuring a safe, respectful, and person-centred environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality service in line with professional, national, and local standards
• Work in accordance with current legislation, policies, and procedures
• Promote person-centred care, recovery principles, and service user rights
• Support residents with daily living needs including personal care, nutrition, social and independent living skills
• Contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate records and uphold strict confidentiality
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents, including participation in crisis management when required
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies
• Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development
• Support the day-to-day operations of the residential service
• Comply with health & safety standards and report any risks or incidents
• Engage with inspections and implement any required improvements

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of best practice in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Ability to apply professional judgement and deliver safe, effective care
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (or willingness to learn)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to changing needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, respectful approach
• Commitment to continuous professional development and high-quality service delivery
